The Differences:

The most obvious difference between these electronic reading gadgets available to buy at the moment is that one only works in America while the “Global Kindle” works in over 100 countries around the planet. Obviously if you reside in a country besides the States (or if you are an American who often travels to countries around the world) then that makes your decision (such as it is) clear; You must choose the Global Kindle.

Besides that, the clearest difference is that of their sizes. The Kindle DX is far larger both as far it’s display size and how much memory it has. It is also much bigger as far as it’s costis concerned (as of now the DX costs more than $200 more than the Global Kindle.)

While the DX is 9.7 inches, the Kindle with Global Wireless is just 6 inches. The bigger screen is particularly helpful with newspaper subscriptions (it makes it more like reading a real paper.) On the flip side, the smaller size of the smaller version may make it easier to carry around with you wherever you go.

There’s also a substantial difference when it comes to memory size. The Kindle DX Reading Device can hold up to 3,500 books while the smaller version can hold about 1,500 books, magazines, & newspapers. Although, who has more than 1,500 books?! I have a very hard time imagining this huge amount of space that the DX has is necessary for most folks.

Another difference between these devices is that the DX has an auto-rotating screen so that if you flip the gadget on it’s side the screen automatically adjusts itself to be read horizontally (and automatically adjusts itself to be read vertically when you flip it back.)The DX also has a built in PDF reader that the smaller version does not have.

The Similarities:

They both have access to approximately a half million books, magazines, and newspapers which can usually be purchased for lower prices than their paper alternatives. These books can all be downloaded within just 60 seconds from anywhere (they have G3 wireless so there’s no need to search for wi-fi spots.)

Both kindles have text to speech software which automatically turns all of your books into audio books.

Neither of these reading devices will add to your monthly bills. The wireless service is provided much like the service for GPS navigational systems.

They both have a basic web browswer that lets you check out websites from anywhere. This browser is designed for text based websites such as blogs and Wikepedia. It’s not for pictures or videos.

They both have a “no glare” display that “reads like paper.” If you are worried that reading a Kindle’s display will be similar to reading your computer’s monitor then don’t be!

It is often that families have beautiful bibles that are passed from generation to generation. In times past, bibles held the family records for births, deaths, baptisms, and marriages. These valuable treasures become worn with use. When this happens, you should care for your bible by investing in hand Bible book binding.

When you send your bible to the bindery to be bound, the craftsmen there will evaluate what needs to be done. You will get a quote for the work, and you will be given several options for papers, leathers, and binding styles. Often, if the cover needs to be matched, a skilled binder can do it. Because bible covers are usually lovely pieces of artwork, it will take time and money to make everything look the best possible. Consider it as an investment in the book and particularly the people that will enjoy it in the future.

In our mass production society, we often look at books as being simply created in thousands. Even everyday bibles are produced this way. Many have simple covers that are synthetic materials, and less expensive papers inside. But for bibles that are family heirlooms the bindings must be done by skilled and professional craftsmen. They develop their abilities over years of training and apprenticeship.

Hand bookbinding is a craft that has not changed for over five hundred years. The tools are the same, the skills are the same, and it takes talent and dedication to be able to do it properly. If you consider that many bibles also have fine leathers, expensive gold stamping, and intricate and artistic designs, then you can imagine how difficult it is to repair their bindings so as to honor the original binding.

Leather styles and colors must be matched when binding any book. But bibles often have a level of quality that is far superior to an average book. Family bibles in particular may have been covered with rare leather that is difficult to match. This is part of skill needed when any bible is in need of a new spine and covering.

Many decisions must take place concerning the interior of the bible and how best to bind it. Sometimes damage has been done to the book, and it must be repaired before it can be bound. Sometimes it is difficult to find papers that adequately match the colors of amount needed to do an artistic job. The bookbinder must be able to see the bible and take the time to go over it carefully, make notes, and then decide what is the best way to proceed. Every bible is a bit different.

Having a bible bound by hand is not inexpensive. It can be as little as $35 or as much as $75 or more. If specialty work and materials are required, then it can be more costly. While it is possible to save money by having a bible covered and bound with imitation leather products, this is not recommended for the type that are actually family treasures.

It will probably take anywhere from four to six weeks for the hand binding process to be completed. In a top quality book bindery, everything is done with meticulous care, and nothing is rushed. The best quality glues, leathers, archival and acid free papers are used, and the best tools. The work is done slowly so that it will last for the future family members that will enjoy the bible.

The biggest blockbuster of the year 2009 was the epic disaster movie “2012″. This movie was written and directed by the famous Roland Emmerich who is well known for the movies like “The Independence Day” and “Godzilla”. The movie is actually based on the predictions in the Mesoamerican Long Count Calendar as well as the Mayan Calendar which says that the world will meet its end by the year 2012. Before you guys jump into watching this movie, I would like to give some review, facts and plots about this movie which moves at a gripping pace. The true fact is that the Mesoamerican Long Count Calendar ends on December 23, 2012 (This calendar has been dated for approximately 5125 years) and many scholars and philosophers believe that the day on which the calendar ends will be the day on which the world ends as well.

Though it may sound ridiculous, the claim is strengthened by the Mayan Calendar as well which states that the world will face many climatic disasters which could ultimately lead to the destruction of the world. If you are still finding it ridiculous, then let me tell you that this fact is further strengthened by the predictions of the famous Nostradamus (a French seer whose predictions were almost accurate) too points to the destruction of the world by the year 2012 due to climatic changes and catastrophic events.

Either you accept this fact or deny this fact, I do not care. All I care about is the fact that 2012 movie is simply awesome with some of the stunning visuals one can ever watch; such is the excellence in the cinematography of this movie. The movie moves at break-neck pace and is packed with all ingredients of action, adventure and drama. The catastrophic events like the earthquake and volcanic eruptions are so realistic and mind blowing that you will be thrilled.

Coming to the crew of the 2012 movie headed by Roland Emmerich, the director consists of some of the most eminent and efficient professionals in this field. The main cast includes John Cussack, Amanda Peet, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Thandie Newton. All these versatile actors have carried out their roles to perfection. Special mention must be given to Oliver Patt too. The music is by Harald Kloser and Thomas Wander. Harald Kloser is also the co-writer of the story of this movie which runs for 158 minutes. Cinematography is by Dean Semler.

I have explained the things about 2012 movie and I am sorry that I cannot tell you the plot because if I do, then the thrill in watching this movie is reduced considerably.
